SURF AID

Make A Wave Challenge

SURF 30 DAYS IN SEPTEMBER FOR REMOTE SURF COMMUNITIES

We’re joining forces with SurfAid to promote their “Make a Wave” challenge:  Surf every day this September and together we’ll make an impact for families in isolated regions connected to us through surfing.

We’d like to promote this amazing initiative and get as many people signed up (or support) anyone who is already registered. Surfers who are keen to take part can sign up at the Surfaid webpage.

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER CREW

We’d be delighted for you to join our crew as a volunteer to make the Women’s Surf Festival a special and memorable event for everyone involved.  If you share a love of surfing and want to help deliver an amazing festival experience, then please complete our Volunteer Crew application form.

At the Women’s Surf Festival, our team of volunteers are essential to ensure the event runs smoothly and we highly value our volunteer’s time and involvement. We’re planning a massive weekend of action and fun, so there will be plenty to do.

An example of a few volunteer roles:

Tipi Hosts: This role involves working under our Tipi with our Workshop and Speaker series, helping with set-up and ushering guests to their seats. Hosts must be confident interacting with guests, be enthusiastic, proactive and courteous.  Bonus: catching one or two speaker/workshop sessions.

Registration: The registration desk is the first point of contact for guests arriving at WSF. Registration volunteers will handle tickets, provide general festival information and any other  queries that may arise.

Event Runners: Be part of the crew that helps just make the event happen, from set-up (which may require some light lifting), assisting vendors at the market place, keeping the event site tidy, and generally be available to help wherever needed.

Some points to consider:

  • Limited edition WSF tee will be provided for you to wear (and keep).
  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older and available to help out for a minimum of one full day during the event.
  • Hours may vary each day, starting from 7am through to 5pm.
  • As these are volunteer positions WSF does not cover travel or accommodation.

If you have any questions about becoming a WSF volunteer, please email: volunteer@womenssurffestival.com
